2027 Cats of Ka'anapali Boardwalk Calendar Every calendar helps a cat.

The boardwalk cats of Ka'anapali are fed twice a day, fixed, and loved by thousands of visitors. This year, the community is making a calendar: your photos, your votes, and the proceeds going to their food and care through Kristi's Cattitude.

How it works

Four steps from snapshot to calendar page

Anyone who has met the boardwalk cats can take part. Villa guests, locals, and the 3,000+ members of the Sunny the Cat community.

Step 1
📸

Submit a photo

Upload your favorite shot of a boardwalk cat. Tell us the cat's name (if you know it) and the story behind the moment.

Step 2
🗳️

Community votes

Browse the gallery and vote for your favorites. One vote per photo, as many photos as you love.

Step 3
🗓️

Two rounds to the top 12

Everyone votes through August 31. The 36 most-loved cats become finalists, then a short final round in September picks the twelve that each claim a month on the 2027 calendar.

Step 4
💛

Proceeds feed the cats

Every calendar is offered for a donation. Once printing and shipping are paid for, what's left goes to Kristi's Cattitude for food, healthcare, and TNR support.

Two rules, posted in advance

Written down now, while voting is still open, so nobody has to wonder afterwards whether a rule was invented to fit the result.

If cats tie for the last finalist spot, they all go through

There are hundreds of cats and only 36 finalist places, so a tie at the cutoff is likely rather than theoretical. If two or more cats finish level on votes for the final place, every one of them advances. No coin flips and no committee deciding in a back room. It means the final round may hold a few more than 36 cats, and we would rather have that than send a cat home on a tiebreak nobody can see.

Photos posted earlier have more days to collect votes

You can vote for a cat again each day, so a photo that went up in July has simply had more days on which people could vote for it than one posted in late August. That is not a trick and there is no way to undo it, but you deserve to know it before you decide when to submit. If you have a photo, put it in now.

The Calendar Wall

Watch the 2027 calendar build itself

Each month shows the photo currently leading the vote. Nothing is final until voting closes, so your vote can still change the wall. Voting runs in two rounds: everyone votes through August 31, then the finalists reopen for a final vote in September.

Get the calendar

Not printed yet. Put your name down.

Once the top twelve are settled, the calendar goes to print and we'll email everyone on this list first. No payment now, and no obligation later.

We use your email for the calendar and nothing else. We don't sell or share it.

Your turn

Submit a photo

Snap it, upload it, done. Your photo is automatically sized for the web. If your cat makes the top 12, we'll come back and ask you for the full-resolution original, because that's the one that gets printed. Send the photo straight from your camera roll if you can. Screenshots and pictures saved off Facebook look fine on a phone but go soft on paper.

JPG, PNG, or HEIC. Send the biggest version you have

Twelve of these get printed on paper, so size matters more than usual. Send the original straight off your phone or camera rather than a copy saved from Facebook or forwarded by text, because those get shrunk along the way and can't be un-shrunk later. We'll check yours as soon as you pick it and tell you what we see. A smaller photo can still win the vote.

Before your photo is sent, we'll ask you to review and accept a short photo release so we can print your photo in the calendar with your name credited. Photos stay yours. We're just borrowing the cuteness.

Where this all started

Sunny the Cat

A few years ago, a Facebook group started as a bit of fun, a place for villa guests to share photos of the boardwalk cats, named after Sunny, the colony's most shameless character. A few dozen members seemed ambitious.

Today it's a community of over 3,000 people who plan their morning walks around cat feeding times, recognize Boots from Mango at fifty paces, and come back year after year to check on old friends. The cats are all fixed, fed twice daily by volunteers, and healthier than most house cats.

This calendar is that community's next chapter, turning all those photos into real, lasting support for the cats.
